Residents panic as Unidentified Corpse Is Found Dumped Inside Agbor Forest
A report by Daily Post has shown that the people living in Baleke
junction in Agbor community, Delta State are presently unsettled
following the discovery of an unidentified corpse in the community’s
forest.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that a commercial bus driver plying
the road may have knocked down the victim later identified to be a male.
Since the incident happened on Wednesday, there has been tension
and fear of the unknown in the area. But police sources in Agbor said
the body was found with injuries, a case they suspected to be linked to
ritual activities.
An Agbor resident, Joel Ibe, who spoke to Daily Post, said: “this
is not the first time unidentified corpse are dumped in our forest. The
police are not doing anything tangible to fish out the perpetrators. We
cannot fold our hands, and watch evil things happening in our domain”.
But in a swift reaction, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, Police Public
Relations Officer in the state, confirmed that investigation was ongoing
with a view to ascertaining what caused the killing.
He said: “the corpse has been removed and taken to the mortuary
in Agbor central hospital. There is no cause for alarm, we are
investigating the situation, and also calling on members of the public
to help with useful information. The body of the corpse was found with
injuries, it is a clear indications of ritual activity, but we are
investigating the act”.
